Award Category
There are two main categories: (i) Project Category; (ii) Industry Practitioner Category; special recognition is also available.
Four sub-categories are available:
- Public Building Project;
- Private Building Project;
- Civil Project; and
- Repair, Maintenance, Alteration and Addition (RMAA) Project.
Public / Private Building Project sub-categories are further divided by scale: Small (< 25,000 m² CFA) and Medium & Large (≥ 25,000 m² CFA).
Applicant in the “Project” category in the Awards may be recognised with Main Awards (Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Merit), and may also be honoured with the Smart Sustainability Award or the newly introduced Low Carbon Project Citation for exceptional achievements in digital innovation and carbon reduction.
Smart Sustainability Award recognises outstanding application of digitalisation to enhance sustainability in the Project Category; Low‑Carbon Project Citation (new in 2026) recognises impactful and innovative carbon‑reduction approaches across the Project Category.
Three sub-categories:
(i) Construction Manager;
(ii) General Practitioner;
(iii) Young Practitioner (aged 35 or below as of 18 June 2026).
A maximum of 1 Excellent Award and 5 Outstanding Awards per sub-category. Each winner will receive a trophy; monetary incentives: HK$20,000 (Excellent) / HK$10,000 (Outstanding).
Application
The applicant must be the main contractor for Public Building Project, Private Building Project, or Civil Project, or the contractor for RMAA projects, with consent from the project developer / owner. Each application submits one project; multiple applications are allowed; each project must be submitted under one sub-category only.
The project shall have active construction works undertaken during the assessment period. By 31 August 2026: Public Building Project / Private Building Project — at least 50% completion of aboveground structural elements; Civil / RMAA — at least 50% completion of project work per contract period.
Each nominated project must include three team members: (1) a Construction Manager, who should be appointed as onsite managerial staff and authorised to allocate site resources for sustainability; (2) a General Practitioner, who should work in any position at the construction site; and (3) a Young Practitioner, who should also work in any position at the construction site and be aged 35 or below as of 18 June 2026.

Initial assessment will be conducted for all applications; shortlisted applicants will be notified for final assessment. Shortlisted applicants will be notified to give a presentation for final assessment; award results will be announced at the Presentation Ceremony in 2026.
Applicants should provide supporting documents upon request. The CIC and Judging Panel reserve the right to determine eligibility. Applicants are bound by the rules and conditions set out in the Application Form.
